According to the LDS Newsroom website, the Open House for the new Oquirrh Mountain Temple will be held from June 1st through August 1st, 2009. I am excited to go see it. We just recently had the pleasure of going through the Open House for the Draper Temple a few weeks ago. The experience is wonderful for both those who attend the temple and those who do not.

Oquirrh Mountain Temple
This will be the 130th operating temple for the Church and is the 13th in Utah. It is estimated to serve the 83,000 members in the western valley area. Keep watching the Newsroom site as well as the Oquirrh Mountain Temple page for updates on when reservations can be made.

Where is it?
It’s in the South Jordan community of Daybreak. It’s off of 114th and Bangerter Hwy. Just moments away from the Jordan River Temple.
As all houses dedicated to the lord, this one is beautiful. I think all of the temples look surreal and maybe it’s because we are given the opportunity to see, just a little, through the veil. I love how it’s sets high on a mountain top and shines as an example to the world.
