Hi there. There comes some great benefits from Rachel working at BYU. One really great one is that I can go to school there for free and get 20% off books. I am seriously considering getting back in there now. I am deciding between a Management path or something like Communications so I can be involved with Broadcasting. It has to be undergraduate or it costs.
Another thing is that I love the rain! Being from the great Pacific Northwest, rain was the breath of life. Sure if you live there, you get sick of it.. But deep, deep down, you always love it. I moved to Sacramento, then here to Utah. I will tell you, you really start to miss it. I get the craziest looks from people when I pine for the wet stuff. One of the funniest things I ever heard about people in the Northwest was that they don’t tan, they rust! It’s true. I miss my home in Washington! I miss seeing Mt. Rainier every day that it was clear. I miss my family and old friends. I will make it back there.. oh yes, I will.
Wyatt has his first T-Ball game today. We are so excited for him. I will try to upload some pics and video clips to here or my home page, or both. The one contradiction, I hope it doesn’t rain for the game.
I am working on a very introspective post that I should have up by the end of the week. I’ve seen some bloggers also do this. I don’t want to reveal too much but it should be fun and I will encourage my fellow bloggers to do the same at some point. I also would like to let you know that currently, this blog has about 3,500 hits. The one year birthday is on the 15th of May and I think it would be awesome to get that total up to 4,000 hits by then. Tell all your friends and family about this little blog! Thanks!
Be good, Have a good day and SMILE!

Rachel said she must have walked like 10 miles! If you’ve ever been to the BYU campus it’s pretty well spread out. She didn’t yet have a parking permit and had to park in one of the not-so-close guest parking areas. Now, remember that Rachel is still sort of recovering from her broken ankle last February. She described having to walk to a number of different buildings to get the key to the office, a parking permit, a ID Badge, fill out paperwork, learn about benefits and back and forth to the car a few times. From what I understand, each of these were in a different building on campus! Let’s just say she got a well earned foot rub when she got home! Other than all the trekking around, she said she had a really good day.
Wyatt had an awesome day at his new daycare! It’s called Adventure Time and it’s about 5 minutes away from the BYU campus. This makes for very convenient commuting. We were pleased with his quick adjusting and his fuss-free entry that morning. He went right in and had a great time. One snag had to do with getting him into the “summer camp” group that will be doing field-trips and other cool projects. We enrolled him with being told that by doing so, it would mean that he would be also added to that group. We found out today that for whatever reason, this was incorrect and his last day at the school would be in late May and we would then need to find another center. I am not entirely clear on all that but it sounds like a pain in the neck as we were misled during his enrollment on Friday, the 25th.
We’ll keep you updated on the progress!

Roughly six months in the making, Rachel finally landed that elusive job! She had an interview with the nursing department at BYU for a secretary position this past Monday. The interview went well and they let her know that due to other interviews and some business travel, they would let her know in about 2 weeks. Yesterday, she got a call from a Boston phone number (she lived there for a little bit in the mid 90’s) and she got offered the position! She asked for a little time to consider and weigh things. She called in the early evening to let her know her decision. Rachel starts her new job this coming Monday morning!
Holy moly! She’s had multiple interviews at BYU and now wonders why this one at this time. Well whatever the reason, we are very grateful and excited. Thank you all for your prayers and faith!
