Bikes, Slides & Grass

Hello, folks. For the past weeks, Rachel & I have been discussing and shopping for some fun, outdoorsey stuff. We’ve been looking at buying Wyatt a half-bike and originally, we were going to buy Rachel a new bike so we could go on regular bike rides as a family. We were going to buy a decent inexpensive bike from Walmart. We are fairly uneducated about bikes and we decided to head to the local Trek bike shop and ask for advice. While there and being ill from some of the prices we saw, we got some help from one of the techs there. After realizing some of the extra costs that would most likely add up with buying an inexpensive bike from Walmart, including tune-ups during the break-in period, we decided on the cheapest bike they had. Trek includes free tune-ups for the first few months and great support. Rachel & I discussed it and decided that since they offer some good discounts, we would both buy a new one.

The other bit we’ve been really discussing for years is purchasing a swingset/playset for Wyatt. We really wanted something really elaborate and durable but after seeing prices upwards of $3,000 – 5,000, we decided this would not be prudent. We looked a lot and settled upon one that Toys “R” Us was selling for $500. We will need to build it but my sister, Gina says it’s not too bad. We are pretty excited about it all. Glad we were able to get a decent priced one. First thing I HAVE to do is mow that back yard, it’s been WEEKS! Think rain forest…

If anyone can come over to the house and offer some help with building the playset, it would be most appreciated!
