Memorial Day – 2009

Memorial Day 2009
Memorial Day 2009

An incredible Memorial Day weekend! Fun, Family, Friends and good food! That really encapsulates the last 3 days for the Marini family. Saturday we awoke and got to work finishing trimming the backyard. John, our friend, came over with his weed whacker and handsaw. We made easy work of a buncha over-grown weeds and some unwanted bushes. We raked a good bit of it up. We rented a Home Depot pickup truck and hauled away last year’s branches as well as our torn-down ramp. We hauled it all up to the Utah County Landfill. We ate some lunch and did some shopping. We also purchased a new BBQ Grill. It was a busy day but was a lot of fun.

We went to church and relaxed on Sunday. We assembled the BBQ before church and it was beauty! We went to Grandma’s for a ham and potato dinner. It was a good visit.

Monday, we did some more shopping in the morning and Bekah and John came with us to go see Lexie. Lexie is the name we chose for our new puppy. She had grown quite a bit in just 2 weeks since we had first seen her. Wyatt just loved holding and cuddling with her. It was very cute. We all took a turn holding Lexie and getting more familiar. We headed home when Rachel, Bekah and Wyatt went to the pool. John and I were in charge of grilling. John had assembled some wonderful kabobs and brought some delicious steaks he got fresh from a family member just recently. We grilled up some Brats, some chicken and corn, still in the husk. Needless to say, it was an outstanding debut for the new grill and our first BBQ of 2009. Grandma joined us for dinner and really enjoyed herself.

This weekend was certainly one for the books – or the blog! I hope all of you had a wonderful weekend.

Thank you to all those who have served in our Armed Forces and those who are now serving.
